Would someone confirm a couple of things for me? One, we're just drafting a team to dress right (ie 2 goalies, 6 D, and 12 forwards)? Two, are we PMing people after we choose or are we just relying on others to come and make their picks?

And does anyone know if Morenz had a preferred forward position? I don't recall one and I didn't find one after some brief research.

Yes, and yes to the first two questions.

Not sure about Morenz, I think THN top 50 listed him as a centre.

1) Yes, 2 goalies, 6 defencemen and 12 forwards
2) Yes, or we're supposed to anyway.

According to the HHOF he's a centre.

Thanks fellas. I'm ready to go then.

MacDaddy sure built a team based on old-timers eh? I think I'll have to mess up the theme he was going for with my five picks. Tis heresy isn't it?

The Devils are pleased to select

Ted "Teeder" Kennedy

tedkennedy3.jpg

One of the all-time great face-off men, and a clutch goal scorer, he won the Hart Trophy in 1955, and twice led in playoff goal scoring. He was overpowering in the corners and relentless in all three zones.

"If World War III broke out tomorrow, and I was going over the top again, there'd only be one Leaf I'd want at my side. Teeder. Only Teeder. When it came to laying guts on the line to win, Teeder Kennedy laid on the most." - Conn Smythe

The Devils also are proud to select

Sprague Cleghorn

cleghorn2.jpg

Sprague was a defensive rock as well as a rushing defenseman in the style of his one time defensive partner Cyclone Taylor. The seminal tough guy of the 20's, he is credited with instilling a mean streak in Eddie Shore.

Sprague was twice runner-up in Hart voting in the first 3 years of its existence, at the age of 33 & 35. He scored 167 goals and 255 points in 365 games in his 17 year career in the NHA and NHL.

Hull - Messier - C. Conacher
Moore - Stewart - Bathgate
------ - Kennedy - Nedomansky
------ - Keon - --------

Kelly- Seibert
Kasatonov - L. Conacher
Cleghorn - --------

Dryden - Broda
