So I thought it might be fun to do a All Time Burgandy and Blue Game but Draft style via poll.

This is not intended to be based solely on their time with the Avs,
but I will start the Poll with mostly Avs players with lengthy tenures. Players are all considered in their PRIME.

The Rules:
- Players must have played a regular season game in an Avalanche Uniform.
- As this is mostly an All Star type feel, Wingers can switch sides and if necessary, Centers can move to wing. Defensemen can play either side.
- The Draft will be a snake draft
Each team will have 18 skaters (12F, 6D) + 2 Goalies

Please feel encouraged to discuss your choice, and even try and "sell" your choice to others. After voting add a name you would like to see added to the poll. A minimum of 2 forwards, 2 defensemen, and 2 goalies will be maintained in the poll options.

I decided to take the players who have had their numbers "retired" off the board as to give us a base to work with.

Sakic and Roy will lead Burgandy, while Forsberg, Foote, and Bourque will lead the Blue.

Burgandy will be choosing first.

I will use the next two posts to keep the rosters updated.

Poll will last 48 hours(ish)

I see there's also some votes for Hejduk but burgundy will likely end up with him as well.

Patrick is missing a K.

Picked Hejduk but didn't even notice Blake's name. I would have picked him. I'm pretty sure after the retired 5, Hejduk and Blake that Stastny was the best Av. He defintely needs to be added.

Just to restate my agenda

My goal was hopefully not to do an all time "best Avalanche" game, but with all the great players who have passed through the ranks, I think a few names could make the cut even if their time with the Avs may not have been their best, but they were still great players

there's a couple others that should be on here:

Dave Andreychuk
Theo Fluery
Dale Hunter
Jarome Iginla
Paul Kariya
Teemu Selanne
Owen Nolan
Brian Rolston
Scott Young

I'd add all these guys over some you've got on the list, if you're counting time in service with other teams. Some of these guys are leaps and bounds better than what you've got on the list right now.

I chose not to add the non-tenured greats because I thought it might spur more debate/discussion on who should be next to add to the list, which I think is more interesting than the usual "best Av" discussion. Problem was most of those greats are forwards and I needed some Dmen on the list.

I can always change out a few options in the next poll and slot in those greats over guys like Dutch and Mack.

It's kind of sad that JM Liles is the 5th best defenseman in the history of our organization.
