Name the top 3 forwards, top 2 defenseman and top goaltender from your state or province (and if your state/province is a hockey hot bed a top prospect list from your town/city would be even cooler)

I could nearly walk to Tim Connolly's hometown from where I grew up. He's the closest.

Rob Schremp is from about 15 minutes away.
Robert Esche is from where my parents were born.
Dustin Brown is from the town where I went to college.
Erik Cole was born about 40 minutes away.
Craig Conroy is from about 2.5 hours away.

God I know I'm missing people...

One of the biggest busts in NHL history is from about 1.5 hours away.... the dreaded Jason Bonsignore...

Alright, not many of these guys panned out, but they did have varying degrees of success at other levels. They come from Grand Rapids-Greenway area of Minnesota.

Aaron Miskovich: Minnesota's Mr. Hockey in 1997 i think. Played 4 years at the U of Minnesota. Also a neighbor of mine.

Jeff Nielson: Played in the Minnesota State Hockey Tournament Championship game, Golden Gophers, as well as the Minnesota Wild.

Chris Marinucci: Hobey Baker award winner athe UMD.

John Casey: Played at UND and for the North Stars during run to the Cup

Gino Guyer and Andy Sertich are seniors at U of M. Guyer was Mr. Hockey

Alex Goligoski: Outstanding Defenseman for U of M. Penguins prospect.

Adam Hauser: Goalie for U of M during championship season

Obviously not all these guys are prospects, but I had to mention them anyway. I know I missed a few others also. Most of these guys lived probably within a 20 minute drive of me.

Technically, Greiss is from Fuessen ;) , though he might have played for Rosenheim, what I am not so sure of.

I don't really want to delve into the top prospects from Prince George, at least not right now. The best British Columbian forwards that come to mind initially are Paul Kariya, Joe Sakic, Steve Yzerman, Mark Recchi and Brendan Morrison. As far as the best defencemen; Eric Brewer, Scott Hannan and Scott Niedermayer (not sure if he was born here or just raised). As far as goaltenders go... none of a particularly high caliber really come to mind. The West isn't exactly a hotbed for netminders.

Olaf Kolzig (OK...he only played his minor hockey here...)

Leave us alone. Bobby Smith can still skate...I'm almost positive.

Bergeron/Lecavalier/Briere and Tanguay could be switch with Gagne if you dont like him .

Bourdon/Fleury/Bernier/MA Pouliot/Deslauriers and Latendresse are all interesting prospects from the top of my head .

Marleau is from Saskatchewan (town of Aneroid).

Also, Theo Fleury is from Saskatchewan as well (Oxbow).
I thought Fleury played his younger hockey up in the Russell area?

As a kid i skated with Joe Dzedic and later with Troy and Jake Riddle around local parks in NE minneapolis. And there are alot of former and current gophers who came out of the metro area.

He asked for a few, not two entire teams. If that were the case, Ontario and Quebec would fill this entire thread

Go Team New Brunswick (since theres like 1 in the NHL, this is the all time team)

Forwards

Everett Sanipass (was a highly toughted prospect from Big Cove, NB. Played for team Canada in the World Juniors in the infamous game where both teams spilled on the ice for a bench clearing brawl and resulted in both teams being disqualified. His pro career never amounted to much mostly due to personnal demons)

-Scott Pellerin (Winner of the Hobey Baker award while playing with the University of Maine. The native of my home town Shediac NB went on to become a steady utility playing throughout his years in the NHL while scoring a career high 20 goals in 98-99)

-Mike Eagles http://www.legendsofhockey.net:8080/LegendsOfHockey/jsp/SearchPlayer.jsp?player=10414

Defense

-Luc Bourdon (Highly regarded prospect in the Cannucks' oragnisation)

-Don Sweeny http://www.legendsofhockey.net:8080/LegendsOfHockey/jsp/SearchPlayer.jsp?player=11603

Goalie

Roland "Rollie the goalie" Melanson (Another Shediac native, he won 2 Stanley Cups with the Islanders and is now goalie coach with the Habs)
