All-Star teams 80Â´s, 90Â´s, 00Â´s

Just for fun. Make your all-star teams from each decade. 4 forward lines, 6 d-men, 2 goalies.

Its debatable wheter some player "belongs" to some decade, for example Lemieux 80/90Â´s? Same thing with Francis, Yzerman, Robitaille etc...Or is Forsberg 90/00Â´s? But as I said, this is my take, please make yours.

EDIT: And yeah, I made these in a way, that a player can be only in one team. Of course Lemieux,Gretz,Yzerman etc. should be on both 80/90Â´s teams.

It's interesting to see really how dominant Jagr was and in fact Forsberg and Lindros (the Hfboard's fantasy studs who were supposed equals to Jagr) don't even make the list. Lindros and Forsberg didn't miss enough games in the 90's to let their supporters use that claim when comparing them to Jagr.

Jagr was flat out dominant.

One important remark though, where is Sakic on the 90's All-Star list? I would think he would be ahead of Yzerman and Federov and even Messier in that time.

If players are being assigned based on when they played their best hockey, then Lidstrom should be on the 00s team, not the 90s team. He won all his Norris trophies in the 00s, was the best NHL player overall for the decade, won his Conn Smythe trophy, and won an equal number of Stanley Cups in both, but captained a 00s champion. It's not really even close.

Man, it's scary to think that Lecavalier might be the 2nd best centre of the 2000's. He's had more disappointing seasons than good ones. Excellent in 2007 and 2008, very good in 2003...that's about it. And am I right in thinking that Marty St. Louis seems to be the common denominator when a Tampa centre has a great season?

Obviously Crosby would take that spot if he hadn't missed half the decade. But still. I think Joe Sakic is a much better choice for the #2 spot.

Yep with Richards for the 03-04 cup run, Lecavalier post lockout then this year/part of last year with Stamkos. It is the way he can adapt his game to whatever he needs to be, scorer, playmaker, combo, whatever it needs to be. Only issue is he tends to do it TOO much in the end, I mean 06-07 season with Vinny he scores 43 goals and 59 assists, next season just 25 goals and 58 assists, he became far too pass first and predictable. So I wouldnt mind seeing him switch the Vinnys wing next year just to change things up again and keep him going.
