Eight goaltenders will participate in this event, with one goalie from each division designated the shooting goalie and one the in-net goalie. The shooting goalies will earn points based on the accuracy of their shots at the net, and the in-net goalies will face rushes of three, two or one player(s), based on the number of points earned by the shooting goalie in their tandem.

Competition takes place on the beach in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The ocean spray, breeze and sand add to the challenge of this exceptional Skills event, as four pairs of players fire at targets to attempt to dunk their opponents.

I’m a little disappointed they didn’t ask Troy Terry in any of the skills events, but have 3 Rangers competing today, benefit of following two teams. Lol

Just to add, maybe they didn’t want McDavid losing 3 times in a row.

Ovi and Sid teaming up in the breakaway challenge... who would have seen that coming ten years ago??

It's been really cool to see those two evolve their relationship over the years from white-hot hatred to a seemingly begrudging mutual respect to what seems now as an appreciation for one another and a friendship. Two legends who somehow surpassed the unrealistic expectations put on them, really helped save the NHL and pave the way for the current game, and somehow are only separated by a few points on the NHL record books. The league will be worse off when 87 and 8 hang 'em up.

Going to be a fun night tonight. I wish they would've had the breakaway competition with the goalies taking part. Miss the obstacle course relay and the precision passing into the small nets.

Not crazy over All-Star weekend and don't go out of my way for it but, tonight looks very intriguing. I drive a truck for a living and it just doesn't translate well over radio. I'm old (45) yet I don't bitch about needing to change or not change the format. It's a gimmicky thing but, that doesn't make it a bad thing. Anyway enjoy it all or if not go get your hockey fix by attending a minor league or college game. I get the ECHL as part of my Flosports subscription. It's all good.

Same as the Bellagio fountain shootathon last year. Real exciting for the people in the rink watching it on the screen. That event blew chunks I’m sure this one will be the same.

Listening to the Sabres company show, sounds like they just swapped Dahlin into what Thompson was supposed to be doing in the hardest shot competition.
