Penn State lands 4* OT Rasheed Walker over Ohio State to wrap up their class.

Depending on how Miami, Alabama, & Clemson finish it could be their first ever consensus top 5 class in the modern era of recruiting rankings. As mentioned above Georgia is taking a lot of food off those teams plates today.

This will be the first time since 2010 that Alabama won’t finish #1 in 247’s composite class rankings. Florida finished #1 that year.

The top four schools (Georgia, Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State) have really put a strangle hold on the top tier talent the last two cycles. PSU is right there too, but I would be shocked if a team outside of that group actually wins a national championship for the next 3-4 years.

The biggest early takeaway for the next cycle (2019) is there’s going to be multiple national recruits from the New England states. That’s not something you see everyday.

I will profess supreme ignorance when it comes to recruitment and recruiting rankings, but the fact that VT is 22nd for this cycle and we improved our 2yr rank by 14 spots makes me feel good about the immediate future of this team under Fuente. I just hope we have some receivers coming up to replace our losses.

VT is in a bit of tough spot recruiting wise. High school coaches soured on the program towards the end of the Beamer reign, and just about every major program in the country puts a full press on the Hampton Roads area. NOVA gets raided routinely by the B1G teams. If Fuente can start winning the state, expect good things.

Landed a 5* from athlete from St. Louis yesterday. Same message still applies here too probably.
Reminds me of when Kansas got commitments from all those LA kids early on last cycle. All but one or two of the lower 4 stars eventually ended up somewhere else.

Yeah if they last through the summer the season will probably make them change their mind. As I don’t think anybody really expects them to win much this year.

This is good news for Penn State. You now know who’s your replacement for McSorley in 2019. Honestly surprised he passed up the opportunity to transfer as he has NFL traits.

It doesn’t say in the article but it has been rumored elsewhere that UCLA & Washington State were two schools that reached out to him.

Can someone explain to me how the NCAA allows Michigan to take its entire football team to Europe pretty much just because?

How is that not a benefit?
