This is all going to come out soon, but the reason they're leaving and Meruelo is selling is because he didn't have the money to finance the project and after desperately searching for it, found no one who would do it.

The potential "in-state buyer" didn't exist. Completely fabricated. There was another potential buyer not named Ishbia that was interested but Meruelo told him to pound sand.

There's more coming but the bottom line is, he never had the money to do this himself, for those of you who keep saying he's a billionaire, yada yada.

I think most of your posts seem to always take the negative or contemptuous view in regards to the Coyotes. A lot of us fans don't like it when the media or other NHL fan bases piss down on the Coyotes, and maybe some of it is warranted, but sometime it feels like "hey, whose side are you on?" Just my impression. Maybe as fans we've been looking at everything in rose colored glasses. That's what we do as fans.

Now that we know the Coyotes are relocating to Salt Lake, I sure hope Tempe gets an AHL team. And I really hope someone, ANYONE is working to build an arena and bring the NHL back ASAP.

I want the highest level of pro hockey possible in the valley. Because I’m a hockey fan and I live in the valley.

Maybe I'm a masochist, but I purchased tickets for the Roadrunners playoff game on the 26th.
Last time to see Doan and Gunther play in the state of Arizona. The Roadrunners are actually
a very good AHL team. I would love to see them make a run. How great would it be if they won the Calder Cup? There one of the better teams, so it's not all that far-fetched.
