How does the AHL reg season work where these teams match up in the playoffs but haven't played a game in the reg season?

The Ice Caps play in Newfoundland. It's the equivalent of sticking an AHL team in Hawaii. It's expensive to get to, even with the Ice Caps subsidizing the costs of the visiting team. I'm guessing the Devils organization isn't flush with enough cash.

It's the same reason why the only "Western" conference team they play is Utica. It's weird, but it's just the economics of the AHL

Oh I forgot the AHL playoffs are still what the NHL playoffs used to be like with conference seeding as opposed to division brackets

He is doing good thru 2 games a goal and an assist. Your suggestion is a good one he needs to bulk up.

If he could bulk up and be stronger on the puck, he would be a huge talent. The kid's offensive ability is off the charts, he just lacks the necessary strength. It's too bad because his speed, hands, and creativity are about as good as anyone on the big club.

Why doesn't he see this or why aren't the coaches working on this with him? I don't get it I don't feel he is a throw away as of yet he hasn't been given enough time on the same quality line to fit in.

I wouldn't mind seeing Pesonen given a shot with the big club up on the 4th line. He's got pretty good speed and a bit of a nasty edge to him, seems to throw the body pretty good.
