After being eliminated in 2nd round again, has a NHL fanbase ever been this crushed?

It's year.... after year.... after year.

Caps have made playoffs like 9 of past ten years. Multiple President Trophies.

Yet, the team has never gotten out of the second round this century.

Being a bottom feeder at least doesn't crush you like this. You know it's a bad ride - but there's hope and at least no crazy great expectations.

With Caps - just seems like there's no hope anymore for the fan base.

Any team that doesn't have a Cup.

Also you are insane if you think most Caps fans thought they would win this game. I never, for one second, thought they would beat the Pens three games in row.

Players move on, fans should move on as well.

Go Preds!!!

Do you still get to watch your team on TV?

In recent memory, no I can't recall teams being as good as the Caps faltering every year at pretty much the same point.

You can't lay all of the blame at Ovi's feet, but maybe a change in leadership would be good for the team.

You still have no comprehension of the depths us Leafs fans have seen

There's a difference between almost never making the playoffs and getting a round 1 knock out (both game 7s) and making the playoff almost every year, and usually finishing first in the division, conference or league and never making it out of round 2.

I thought his point was pretty easy to grasp, hope I broke it down enough for you.
