Stolarz 20 saves on 21 shots in relief.

Yep. Looks like London is giving Stolarz some time to get adjusted. He's performed very well in relief (in the past three Knights games, Patterson has been pulled twice and Stolarz has come on in relief and performed exceptionally well). I know that he was awaiting his pads to come in, so I'm wondering if he's working with Bill Dark breaking in his pads. If that's the case, then he should be ready to start when the next Knight game happens (January 24th against the Ottawa 67's). Either way, Stolarz has been impressive in his Knights performances so far. The good news though is that he's making the most of his playing time. He's given the Knights every opportunity to win and they just couldn't get it done.

Can't until his season is done
Half joking, but seriously the Flyers offense looks abysmal.

Also Syvret just scored to tie the game at 1 vs Connecticut. Any chance he could get a call up? A little desperate, I know, but might be a decent option.

I think Valeri Vasilyev the Flyers' 7th round pick from last draft is currently playing in the KHL for Spartak Moscow. He was playing for their lower level team earlier in the season. He's played 4 games for them and has 1 assist, an average TOI of 8:19, and 11.5 shifts. It seems he produces very few points.

Hope he gets more games/ice time. I think everyone knew that he didn't really have any o upside but he's a big physical guy. There's still room for a guy like that in the NHL.

I went out on a limb when the lockout was lifted and said Noebels may sniff the NHL even this season, and if the Flyers keep dropping like...well...Flyers, he should get a chance. His shot is very good, and he plays a smart defensive game. Skating and physical play will remain a question mark for a couple years.

I'm also hoping he gets more ice time now that it's clear Spartak is out of the running for the playoffs. They already traded Ruzicka, but other than maybe Shchitov I'm not sure there's anyone on defense other teams would be interested in and make room for Vasilyev.

He wont turn 19 until may. If he can get some experience now and play at that level next yr everyday, even with limited minutes it would be great for his development. I know they're not exactly a great team but the fact that he got the call as an 18 is still surprising. I don't know enough him or the situation he's in but I hope his promotion is based on his play/potential and not the fact that they just needed another body to through on the ice.

I hope the Flyers will be able to bring him over. It seemed he at least flirted with coming to the USHL which means he might have the desire to play in North America. People have bashed the Flyers prospect system, but I do think the last two drafts might turn out to be huge for the Flyers.

Per Bob McKenzie, it appears the Flyers are cutting ties with Niko Hovinen as they've put him on mutual termination waivers (Basically, both sides agree to terminate his contract, no cap hit and he's free to join whomever). This usually occurs when players want to go back to Europe. I guess he was tired of the ECHL.

I hope so too, but like yourself don't know much more about the whole situation. The problem with KHL, though, is that even though the youngsters are sometimes given chances, it's often with limited minutes. In this case he spent the entire season in the MHL and is only going to play in the KHL for a couple games, so that's good. But if he was to be a third/fourth liner for the entire season, I'm not sure that'd be the best thing for his development. But my avatar is getting decent minutes on the Dynamo Moscow team as a youngster, as well, so I think if Vasilyev is good, he won't end up in a situation where he's called up, but not being able to play.

Oh, and when I was talking about the trade I didn't mean to say all defensemen but Shchitov suck, it's just that I probably wouldn't consider any other ones to be legitimate targets for other teams to poach for the playoff run. So I wasn't trying to imply they're a bad team.
