Even if that were true, Ginning is 24. Staal is 37. At this stage in the team's ostensible rebuilding cycle, I would rather see the less effective player who has yet to reach their prime, and might put a couple more of the pieces together, than the declining veteran who has progressively less to give with each successive game.

Ginning won't be here next year. I would be amazed if he isn't back in Europe.
