A more optimistic view on the Flames' play so far

So if Monahan keeps on this 50 point pace for the season, do we get to save a bit on his next contract? Or is he still going to cash in same as he would if he produced like last year?

If he scores 31 goals again this year then the contract will be large as that's back to back 30 goal seasons as a 21 year old. But if he gets 20+ goals and around 50 points then I think it helps the flames either get a nice bridge contract, says 4.5 range, or long term maybe around 6. Interesting to see how it plays out

Man, just imagine. Money scores 45-50, Flames tank the season, draft Matthews, sign Monahan to 5 year, 5.75mm per deal... couldn't say I'd complain about that!

Also wouldn't complain if he scores 80 and we make playoffs either... :dunno:
