Great video. I thought Henri Richard started the Cup tour around the ice in 73, but it appears it started in 1970 with Johnny Bucyk I think.

Absolutely. There's photo evidence of that online too.

They brought it back in 88. In his autobiography he talks about it. It was a spur of the moment thing. He was on the ice, and it popped into his head that teams used to do it and then stopped. So, he called for everyone to line-up for a picture. Hence he RE-STARTED the tradition.

Ya, awesome video. Thanks for rustling that up.... NHL Legend has it that Ted Lindsay (as Captain) of Detroit in the early 50's was the first to pickup & carry the Cup then skate around the ice with it by the boards so the fans could get a closer look. He didnt actually raise it over his head apparently, something that obviously started later, nor did he expect it to start a tradition.
