- QUOTES -
JON COOPER: "Especially with finding out the news that had happened the day before (with Vasy), I don't know if (Johansson) put pressure on himself. I'm sure other people did, but I thought he did really well. Our guys played well around him for most of the game. He got to see pucks, he stopped everything he saw. Those first 12 minutes of the 3rd period when we were under deress, he came up big for us. Hopefully it's a good confidence builder for him because he definetely played well."
"He's a kid that has been in the league a little bit, but not ever really gotten his chance. So, you never know when you're going to get it. He obviously signed here knowing he wasn't coming in to be the starting goaltender, and all of a sudden he's thrust into this situation where playing time might go up. We want to see if he's going to take this oppertunity and seize it. It's a small sample size, just 1 game tonight, but he sure made a case. I think for him confidence wise this has to be great for him. It's an exhibition game, he's getting his feet wet, he hasn't played a game yet, but that's a heck of a night 1. Hopefully we can keep continuing to play d a little bit better, like I said that little spurt we had, and he keeps kicking the puck out."
JONAS JOHANSSON: "I feel bad for (Vasy). It's not easy going through injury, but other than that I don't try to focus on anything else. I can only control what I can control. That's showing up everyday and being as good as I can, and play as good as I can when I get to play. So, that's my main focus."
"I always try to prepare like I'm going to play every game. It doesn't matter what position I'm in really. The biggest thing for me is showing up in practice and being good everyday. That helps in games too."
"(Vasy and I) had a really good communication earlier in camp, and even days before training camp. He's really good, and really supportive. He's a huge guy you really look up to for me. He's one of the best in the world both on and off the ice. I'm excited to watch him work too. ... (I picked up) some unconscious stuff from seeing him in practice everyday. The way we work with Frantz in goalie skates, you just kind of watch and learn. You pick some things you like. Working with those guys everyday gets my game way better too. It's good stuff."
LET'S GO BOLTS!
