- QUOTES -

JON COOPER:
"The one thing about Condra, just watching these two games, he’s really got a great head for the game. He’s a really smart player. He knows where to be on the ice…He’s played on two different lines, and he’s meshed well with everybody he’s played with."

BEN BISHOP:
"It’s the first test of the year for the body, that’s for sure, and you just want to get your timing back more than anything else. In practice guys are coming down uncontested and shooting the puck from the slot with no pressure. Now you will have guys skating in front of you, taking your eyes away and changing up lanes and angles. So it’s more about getting that timing down and feeling the rush come at you. It really is a big difference between summer hockey and your first game. There really is an adjustment period and it takes about a game or two to actually feel the rush and feel comfortable again."

MATT PECA:
"It’s good to get that one out of the way and have a good game and play like you can. Obviously, it’s going to help (my confidence), and hopefully I can keep that going."

This will almost definitely be streamed on the Stars website. Sadly I still won't be able to watch but hopefully there will at least be some game video afterwards.

The Crunch leave for Montreal on Sunday, where they're set to hop their flight to France to begin their preseason. So we should probably expect a large number of cuts after and/or before the game. Last year a few guys like Witkowski and Paquette didn't make the trip and stayed with the NHL guys until the end of camp. It's possible we might see some guys who are on the outside looking in play tonight as they try to make one more impression to stick around a little longer.

Even from the beginning of the season Dallas last year reminded me of our 2009/10 team where they were heavy loaded on offense with subpar defense and mediocre goaltending. Benn winning the scoring title but the team missing the playoffs paralleled Stamkos and his Richard win. They really have not done much to fix that in my opinion this off season.

It will be interesting to see who sticks around after this before tuesdays game.

Brought in Oduya and Johns. Dont know much about Johns, but chicago sounded very sad about losing him.

That's like us bringing in Carle.

Plus, it's not only the blue line. It's the depth of the team overall.

That is a REALLY green roster.

Was thinking the same thing. Drouin being out there again tonight makes me wonder if they're still looking for him to prove something. Lots of players have been off for a bit. That forward group is the entirety of our non-regular group.

Well Blujus, Nesterov and Koekkoek will have their work cut out for them. Heres hoping they play lights out. If not game will get ugly and quick.

Not surprised with this roster for tonight. Because going to see most if not all our regulars playing Tuesday since its nationally televised.

My lines projection - something is off though. One player too many for the Lightning. Game day roster is 20 players ... but showing 21 players on the above roster.

Drouin - Namestnikov - Gourde
Marchessault - Point - Ikonen
McGinn - Paquette - Blunden
Paradis - Richard - Tambellini

Nesterov - Sustr
Koekkoek - Witkowski
Taormina - Blujus
Dotchin

We are either showing one too many forwards or defensemen.

It looks like they went down their depth chart and just threw on anyone remotely close to the bubble, or just the bottom half of the depth chart. Interesting that Brown isn't in and Namestnikov, Drouin, and Paquette are all playing, if that indeed is the case.

EDIT: Also interesting that Adam Erne isn't playing. Maybe this is more performance-based? Reports on Erne haven't been glowing.

Dallas has Seguin and that's it for forwards, we should roll them pretty easily if we control him.

Seguin and Sharp are 2/3 of their first line. Goligoski and Klingberg is their top defensive pair isn't it? Seems like they are bringing about 6-7 NHL roster players. We are also bringing 6-7 NHL roster players as well - however we are not bringing any of our top line players nor our first pairing. Advantage Dallas.

The NHL roster players they are bringing are: Seguin/Sharp/Roussel/Eakin/Goligosky/Klimberg and Nemeth is #7/#8 defenseman. We are bringing: Drouin/Vladdy/Paquette/Sustr/Witko/Marchessault and Nestea. Plus Niemi > Emery.

I thought he looked good last night. Still trying to do everything himself but he's making plays and generating chances. Being physical. I would be disappointed if that is the reason he's not in tonight.

Huge test for Kookoo and Nestea tonight. Fingers crossed, that may be one of these moments Yzerman understands we don't need Carle anymore.
