For all the talk of how the organization wants to get back to the Ed Snider ways of running things, keeping Tortorella is certainly a way to do the exact opposite of what would have been done.

They had 6 different head coaches between 1997 to 2002 despite being one of the best teams in the league over that stretch. They fired one of them in Murray coming off a SCF appearance.

If this doesn't convince management that their plan of "rebuilding on the fly" is incredibly flawed, then I don't know what will. This is a fundamentally flawed club that can't hang its hat on excuses such as Hart or Walker being moved. It's time to do the inevitable that EVERYONE has been calling for. This off-season, it's time to blow it up. Only a handful of players stay (I'd only consider keeping Foerster, Brink, York, Sanheim, Drysdale, Ersson and Fedotov) and everyone else gets the hell shopped out of them. It's time to quit this charade and take their lumps with a proper rebuild.

JJ going on about how this is a young club - it's really not. Brink and Forester are the only regulars (plus the current goalies) who are on ELCs.
Montreal, Columbus and Buffalo are all younger then the Flyers and they’ve beaten Philly down the stretch.

Flyers are 7th youngest team in the league, average age (27.1) years old.
