He's reading the play so well. He was slumping bad in the middle of this season so Im ecstatic to see him turn it around with the likes of Weber and Mez as his partner even. I hope he bulks up a little bit this summer. He could use a lot more physicality to his game

Surrreeee, lol. Cuz like, Ellis and Schaller are just so awesomely good defensively that Nolan has averaged their ES ice-time to 6:42 and 10:20 per game respectively on a depleted roster that Ellis only sticks on because the likes of Schaller can't.

As others noted during the game - Hodgson putting it on would equate to Nolan's assessment of "see, he's a great 4th liner". And that's essentially the card Nolan played with the inferred refrain about Hodgson's defensive game. Gotta rationalize the irrational.
