Season series: The Nashville Predators defeated the Buffalo Sabres 2-1 in a shootout at First Niagara Center on Feb. 22. Mike Ribeiro scored in the third period to tie the game for Nashville after Buffalo's Tyler Ennis had opened the scoring late in the second. Predators goalie Carter Hutton made 16 saves through overtime and stopped three of four Sabres shooters in the tiebreaker.

Earlier on Friday, the Preds recalled forward Viktor Arvidsson from American Hockey League Milwaukee under emergency conditions. The 21-year-old Swede, who is experiencing his first-career recall, slotted in on a line with Mike Ribeiro and Gabriel Bourque on Friday in place of forward Colin Wilson.

Wilson, who left practice early on Thursday, did not skate on Friday, with Laviolette calling the forward day-to-day with a lower-body injury.
