1st game all year I will miss. To those in charge of tank nation, may you have 4 losses while I am gone. To those who still believe the playoffs are real, may you get 4 wins.

The heart wants wins, the head knows the losses help us more in the future when it really matters.

Good luck.

Oh...and I predict Simmonds will have 1 great game when I am gone...a 2-3 goal game where he looks fantastic.

Great news! Hak said we had a great practice today! Looked refreshed after a day off. We are back on track guys! What a joke...

Mase back in net. Very little makes sense with Hak.

He is perfect proof for why the word "jerk" isn't enough and we, as a civilization,
needed to create the word "jerkwad"

how have the Canes been this bad for so long [1 playoff appearance in the last 9 seasons] and have such an underwhelming group of forwards on their squad? wow...

Well, firstly they built their defense corps to be one of the elite in the league in the coming years.....Faulk, Hanifin, Slavin, Pesce, Bean, Fleury. A lot of their recent problems have been in goaltending. They've really cratered the team, and made them look worse than they are. What we're going through this season, they've had for years. But even this year, their forward group is underwhelming, yet they still score at a higher rate than us. And they have much better underlying #s.

Rask, Aho, Skinner, Staal, Lindholm, Teravainen.....add in Roy, Gauthier, Kuokkanen. They should have really good middle 6 depth, they have a lot of underrated players, but they are few on real star top line/6 talent. Aho and Skinner are probably it. Their story has been one of poor drafting for a long time. Their drafting through the 2000s was incredibly underwhelming, which is why they're in this seemingly endless situation to begin with. Then they traded what became valuable assets in Ladd and Johnson for nothing really. They've been a team really adept at finding talent in the second of late, but they have a knack for using high picks in recent years on safe guys, and been burned by it to varying degrees. Hanifin was taken over the other two defensemen most likely, and he still has a lot of potential, so we'll ignore that, but he certainly was the safe pick. Fleury was taken one pick before both Nylander and Ehlers. It was questionable at the time. Lindholm is good, but they expected and needed more from him.
