[FIELDSET="QUOTES TO NOTE"]

I wanted a little redemption from that first goal against, that was my bad, obviously.
The second and third, we played with more speed, were getting on the forecheck a little bit more. It was good to see.
- Kevin Klein

We were a little messy coming out of our zone still.
When our forwards are coming back, it permits us to be up in the neutral zone and slow them down, and that makes a huge difference.
If we keep doing that, we’re going to keep getting better.
- Marc Staal

That's an elite player there, Perry, to sniff that one out, but Kleiner stuck with it and got us two big goals.
For me, though, it was a team game tonight. I thought we played one of our better defensive games of the year.
- Alain Vigneault

Nice to see the King back in net once again after getting a rest last night, but Raanta did good last night. Kopitar is a freak of nature and he owned us last time we played this team. 10:30PM start again... more late night games.

Hope we don't get dominated by this team after that game last night. LA mostly dominates everyone, but still.

we can hold them to 3 or less, but can we score 3 or more...

somehow we are in the top 6 in GF,
but it feels like with skill across top 3 lines, this team ought to score more

Hopefully we'll win. It's back to back but there ain't much travel from Anaheim to L.A.

We played well last night against a very good team and despite the lack of penalties there was a nasty edge to that game and Anaheim like LA plays a heavy game. Overall the Rangers played a smart disciplined game and were able to match the Ducks physical game. Shots were even in the end and the play was more or less even throughout--though I'd give the Ducks the edge in the first period and the Rangers the edge in the second.

Staying away from stupid penalties was a very good thing last night. They need to do the same tonight.

The Kings have been an elite possession team for years. Darryl Sutter has stated several times they scout players based on possession stats and they build a team that way. Since you cannot score when you don't have the puck, possession is important.

They lead the league in almost every positive Corsi stat, and they won 2 Cups in 4 years, making the Conference finals in between (2013).

Sutter has a win percentage of .612 as the LA Kings head-coach, with a 180-106-44 record.

LA leads the league in CF% with 55.8%, followed by Anaheim 2nd with 53.3%.

They have the 5th lowest shot percentage with 6.6% but still score a ton of goals. That is incredible. For comparison: The Rangers have the league's highest shot percentage with 8.98%!

This is why the Kings style of play is more successful in the long run. Teams cannot sustain high shooting percentages like that.

This will be an extremely difficult game with the way the Kings team was put together by Sutter.

The Kings have mastered the corsi chuck. They'll just constantly throw it on net whenever they can, but they're so structured that they're always in position to win back the puck along the boards. Won't necessarily score the prettiest goals, but the sheer amount of pressure they can generate in the offensive zone is outstanding.

That being said, **** Martinez, **** Dwight King, and **** the Kings.

These schedulemakers.....I'll be nice and won't say it.

I wish people would stop blaming the schedule.

Rangers have 17 B2Bs this season. The same as Pittsburgh, Detroit, and 1 less than Columbus, with Edmonton having the least with 9. Last year we only had 13, with Columbus and Buffalo having 19 and LA and Winnipeg having 9.

We have the 24th most travel miles with just 36,089, compared to San Jose having 50,362. We are not really in a position to complain about travelling and back-to-backs. This season we have the 2nd most, but it isn't like that every year.

This year, we are also playing 12 games against teams on the 2nd game of a back-to-back while being "rested"

So far:
10/13/2015 v WPG (4-1 loss)
11/06/2015 @ COL (2-1 win)
11/12/2015 v STL (3-6 win)
12/06/2015 v OTT (1-4 win)
12/14/2015 v EDM (2-4 win)
12/22/2015 v ANA (2-3 win)
01/22/2016 @ CAR (4-1 win)
02/11/2016 v LAK (5-4 loss)
02/14/2016 v PHI (1-3 win)
02/21/2016 v DET (0-1 win)
02/23/2016 @ NJD (2-5 loss)
08/03/2016 @ BUF (4-2 win)

We are 7-4-1 on the 2nd of back-to-back games while being 9-3-0 when the other team is in that situation.

But AV doesn't believe it so it's not real....

****ing rangers management needs to wake up. This stuff brings cups, there's no way around it.

All those teams you mentioned haven't been going deep in the playoffs like we have. Do you think they don't take that into consideration? What about the Black hawks, Kings, Bruins, other teams who have played deeply into the playoffs the last few years? I'm not being facetious, I just don't want to do the research. LOL!
