[FIELDSET="QUOTES TO NOTE"]

There were a little bit of nerves coming into the game but I think that breakaway save settled me down.
And then that two-on-one play in the second propelled me through the game.
- Mac Skapski

There’s so much skill here, and everyone works so hard. The will, the effort, it’s a fun system to be a part of.
Everyone has 100 percent bought into AV’s system.
- Keith Yandle

We knew going in, and we talked about it prior to the game, there are no easy games in this league and we didn't expect one tonight.
Their goalie made some real big saves in the second period to keep them in, our goaltender had a couple big saves and I thought he did a real good job for us and we found a way to score a couple goals.
- Alain Vigneault

Need to play better than last night. And would the offense please wake up? (Especially Stepan)

Can definitely see Sheppard over Miller tonight. The leash with AV is still short for all players not named Tanner Glass.

It's okay. He's a deterrent, and the Sabres definitely knew he was there last night

One of our games in hand. Gotta get two points.

I'm not defending Tanner Glass at all AND I didn't see the game last night to comment on Miller's play. A lot of young players have benefited from tough love. I don't understand AV's issues with Miller but I'm not privy to what goes on behind the scenes.

Perhaps Miller has the same "issues" with AV that Ryan Kessler had and vice versa. I don't know. I hate that Glass plays over Sheppard. I hate that Miller was benched but it's hard to complain when this team has been on fire since December AND are defending Eastern Conference Champions. I'm not saying AV shouldn't be criticized or Glass playing is fair but right now AV is doing the right thing. Even if the right thing isn't the smartest thing to do.

If Miller is scratched but Glass isn't, I will lose my ****. He took a bad penalty? Ok. Glass takes bad penalties like it's his job and he plays every game.

Anyway, gotta watch out for that Kids with Jagr line. They've been good for the Panthers.

Shepp may be playing over Miller, who was terrible last night and benched

I don't care if a young player had a terrible game. Glass has had 52 terrible games and is a 31 year old established top 5 worst player in the NHL.

The Panthers are 2 top 4 defensemen and a game breaking goal scorer away from being a contender.

People here put so much stock on picks and youth, but they don't always pan out.

Jonathan Huberdeau was absolutely dominant in juniors, now it looks like he can't put weight on and has a light frame, so you see flashes of his insane skill, but he isn't strong enough to beat bigger tougher defensemen to get to the scoring areas.

Gudbranson was a man among boys in junior, but he was a little rushed and is prone to making mistakes. He wouldn't crack the Rangers top 6.

This team will make noise if they pick up Kessel and get some defensemen.

I really like the Panther's youth. Barkov will be an awesome player if he isn't one already. And Ekblad will be a superstar. At least their top picks have worked out better than the Oilers.

Both teams are on a b2b with travel, and an early start to boot. Not even a full 24 hours since last game. Really hoping we don't have to sit through a boring game with no energy from both teams, but kind of expecting it. Just get the 2 points and keep it rolling.

I doubt this team coasted like hell against the Sabres to show no energy at all against the Panthers.
