Hagg definitely deserves some credit for Ghost having such a great start. You need the right partner to be effective as a defenseman. Ghost and Manning never had any chemistry, mostly because Manning seemed to think he was the one leading the pair.

Yes. Yes.

Manning did not let Ghost be Ghost. Manning was quick to jump up into the play and do the things Ghost should've been doing because he's vastly better at them. Ghost was left to cover the often inevitably odd-man rush in the other direction.

Hagg lets Ghost be Ghost.

Neuvirth looked like he was gonna continue with all his troubling habits from last year in the preseason. It's damned nice he flipped the switch.

I'm feeling better with him in net than Elliot, which I didn't expect.

I like when we win.

I like when we win by a lot too.
But, according to some on the main board, that's not "real hockey".

"Real hockey" is a 1-0 win. A defensive, grinding battle.

An 8-2 win isn't real, that's a game without defense. It only counts as half of a game.

All offense and no defense is an embarrassment. All defense and no offense is a noble struggle.

8-2 is good defense and consistent pressure leading to forced penalties and scoring opportunities.
8-7 is a lucky win due to sloppy play on both teams.

Won't anybody please think of the poor ponds?

It's because Elliott's goalie style is pretend a swarm of bees is attacking.
Elliot makes himself small in the net and the top of the net was wide open. The Craps kept firing at it but were missing. I thought Neuvy was really good in his two games but he just can't stay healthy if you ride him. Goaltending imo is our biggest weakness today.

Bad post is bad. Do not like.

So if we continue to win and play really well, you're still going to go full-force in getting those two into the lineup?

We're winning with this lineup. Why complicate things?

Remember: Players don't have careers ruined by being brought up late -- only too early. Just chill, it'll come.

Yeah thats just shortsighted and silly.

Getting both of them NHL experience should be a priority. It will come in handy next season and beyond when we are contenders. Also you want them integrated before Myers, who will be ready by next season..either at the start or by the middle.

Plus, they DESERVE it.

If Sanheim don’t play tomorrow you know he’s not playing Saturday with the narrative built around McDavid/Manning. While funny/entertaining McDavid has still put up two goals & five points in the two games against the Flyers last year.

You're right. Wanting the team to continue winning is silly.

I obviously didnt say that..

Being okay with Sanheim and Morin on the sideline rather than Manning because the rest of the team is hiding Mannings deficencies would be silly. Taking him out and inserting one of the kids MAKES US EVEN BETTER.
