[FIELDSET="QUOTES TO NOTE"]

That’s what I liked the most. We can play with speed, but when it was time to shut them down, we were able to do it.
That’s great for our confidence to know we can be successful more than one way.
- Henrik Lundqvist

You could feel the boost from that PK. It was a great performance from our special teams that honestly weren’t very good in our last game.
- Ryan McDonagh

It's about getting up to speed with how the game is played and getting up to speed with how quick it is. And so far I think Jimmy's done a good job.
He's listening, he's learning. Every shift he has is a shift where he builds experience. He's going through the process and I think he's coming along fine.
- Alain Vigneault

Im always a glass half full optimistic guy but Im going to be my own devils advocate. Here are my concerns for the playoffs. Not in any order.

1. Defense has a top 20 guy in Mcd but other dmen are closer to 3rd pairing than 1st pairing.

2. 8 mill goalie who can play as well as top 5 but has become inconsistent.

3. No first line. We have two second lines.

4. Our 7.8 mill forward gets celebrated for empty net goals.

5. Two good rookies may be counted on for too much.

6. Two well traveled FA have some positives but you can also see why other teams did not keep them.

7. Holden/Girardi

8. Softer than Charmin

Now with all that said I still have hope. Its October. By April we should be cup ready!!!!!! :)

Man, NO ONE wants to go to this game.

  • Football season
  • Sunday night
  • Out-of-conference opponent
  • Few to no visiting fans
  • Second game of a back-to-back

Exactly. It's early. This team will know more about itself and how they play in April. That is a lonnnnnggggg time from now.

Better idea of what is what then.

For now, just enjoy the ride :)

Hehe, awwww, you ruined my Nash hype @NickyFotiu. Yes, Nash has been mediocre at best so far with his finishing.
I agree for sure, but to be positive of AV our current coach - I really enjoy the offensive hockey and chances - so lets hope it last.

Girardi in for Clendening...

The status quo has been restored, excited for the D to look like ***** and be stuck in their own end tonight.

I'm looking forward to Clendening somehow being Stralman 2.0 and because this team (in particular, the coach) is a moron that can't evaluate new talent we're going to let him go to keep muh vets with muh experusnc

He looks like a bigger moron for letting Stralman go, because we knew what we had with him!

lol oh god the top 4 are going to have some combination of Staal-Holden-Girardi infecting it again.

I feel like I'm gonna go back to hating this team really quickly

Yeah, took a look at prices and they're dropping like a rock.

Enjoyed Verizon Center last night. Atmosphere was fantastic and the Caps fans I interacted with were friendly. I kinda got the sense a lot of the fans weren't the smartest hockey fans but all of them were 110% into the game. Nice to see when comparing it to the library MSG is most nights.

Going to the game tonight too. Sucks to see Clendenning scratched. I'd imagine Raanta is in too because it would be stupid if he wasn't.
