Have to be prepared to work for 60 minutes. if they dont then they will get beat. Carolina may not have the best team but they make you work for everything.
The last game of a trip before a long homestand can be troublesome for some teams as well.

Tampa could really do the Flyers a solid today.

A regulation win for Tampa today and a regulation win for the Flyers on Tuesday would go a long way to getting Philly into the playoffs.

Rangers and Tampa tonight. Pitt would be a nice 8 place target but they are going in the right direction. The wings are so so recently and we have a game on them. Not air if we have any games left against them. Here's to getting G back. Couts isn't too far off either

Forgot about Wings/Rangers. Yeah, a New York regulation win helps, too.

The Flyers are chasing three teams at 68 points right now: Tampa, Detroit and Pittsburgh.

Need to pass one of those teams to get into the playoffs, plus Carolina and New Jersey, too.

If I was going to put money on who would fall out I would say Detroit.

They are the worst of the three in my mind.

That being said the best 8 teams in the east on paper are the 8 teams in the playoff spots right now...

I think they'll still be there when the seasons ends.

Yeh, that would be the most likely scenario in my mind.

Realistically only Flyers, Debs or Canes can haul them back in now (it would take a minor miracle for Ottawa or Montreal to get in) and to do so they would have to play ~.625-.635 hockey from here on out... when they are ~.540 teams as things stand.

It's more likely the battle for 9th or 10th spot, unless Detroit suddenly fall apart. TB are Pittsburgh are too good to miss the playoffs in my view. Which only leaves one spot open.

NEED this win. I'd say our chances are pretty good if we can get up to 2 points out of the wildcard spot when Coots and Giroux are both back healthy. Should be sooner than later.

Voracek, Schenn, Simmer need a strong game.

If Couturier returns, he could be on a line with Raffl and Voracek which has been reported a unit at today's practice.

If so, then other lines would have to be adjusted.

^ Yeah, I would imagine the power play units could be changed, too. Gagner was on the first unit the last game (and was +2) which could boost his chances of remaining there and on the top line.

I guess that means (If Coots dresses)

Raffl - Coots - Voracek
Gagner - Schenn - Simmonds
Umberger - Cousins - Read
Hak Line

I really want Laughton to wing with Cousins over Bumberger :(

Time to see what couts has got. I think he would flourish in a big role like that. Sucks G has to miss time but some rest will help him. He looked a little tired before getting hit
