Any idea on the lines tonight? Someone on twitter correctly mentioned that as it is a "mom's trip" it is possible that we see players who didn't play against LA tonight. Which would be wrong as Kobasew has sucked.

They had an optional skate today and even Bylsma wasn't there, so it's hard to say. The player pencilled in on Sid's right wing will probably be rotated with a couple of other guys (based on what's happened the past several games) so I wouldn't call it a "line". More of a pairing of Kunitz and Crosby with a random player on the right wing.

You'd think it would make more sense to have them together in two bunches. We've had one trip to the West coast of Canada and had another mini-one just now. Then we have to go back for games against the Sharks and Ducks later in the season.

I would imagine it's a nightmare to make the schedules due to arena availability, visiting each arena at least once, etc. Especially in an Olympic year.

I have to believe ratings take a huge hit. Most people cannot dedicated to 10:30 on a Wed night. Seems like back when the schedule was similar to how it is this year there would be one West coast trip and the games were on weekends.

It might just be a matter of perspective but I've been a fan since 1993 & it's never seemed this bad before.
