th

Bruce Gamble made 30 saves in the Flyers' 3-1 win at Vancouver in what would be his final NHL appearance after it was determined that he suffered a heart attack during the game. Gamble fell to the ice at one point but he thought it was because he was hit with a skate or stick. He was taken to Merritt Hospital in Oakland the following day where he tested positive for high-blood pressure and a heart attack was confirmed. In September, Gamble officially announced his retirement as a player and accepted a position with the organization as a scout in the Toronto area. Gamble died at the age of 43 on December 30, 1982, the day after playing in an old-timers game.

I've been told by my brother who lives near there that the Verizon Center sucks, mainly because you can't see ****.

Probably depends where you sit. I used to go to games there and had no problem seeing. Of course, that was when the Caps sucked and you could get tickets to a game against the Flyers the day of the game. In the lower bowl.

Yeah, Verizon isn't that bad. The crowd actually gets pretty good when the Caps are playing well and Ovechkin is scoring.

First time making the trip down to the verizon center. Hoping that I am not the only one rocking orange and black!

I still have very very VERY slight playoff hopes for this season. This game decides it. If we can win in Regulation I still maintain we have a (Very Slight) chance. If we lose I think I finally start hoping in the back of my mind the team loses while G and Voracek put up as many points as possible.

I keep looking at the standings and see no hope to get in.

I've said this before, but Voracek piling up points when the team is out of playoff contention doesn't help the Flyers. It just makes his next contract more expensive.

Ugh fantastic, another NHL Network game. I love that you need to pay for like 3 different services to see all the games. Guess I'm not watching this one.

The chances for us to reach playoffs are extremely low, and this game is basically it. This is one of the teams we need to pull some points up from. No more OT losses please.

It also drives up the price of the Gamer hanging in my living room

Also it'd be nice to finally have an Art Ross winner in our history somewhere, and it would be even more awesome if it was from someone no one expected
