ok, I’m bored.
Let’s play.

Make your 4th line better through trade.
But you can only trade 4th liners for 4th liners. No big multi level trades, or big name stars allowed.
Just improve your 4th line.

I'd have liked Khaira but i think he played himself into a greater role than 4th liner last season.

This is just going to be a short, subjective discussion of team priorities.

"I'll trade you a better 31-year-old 4th liner in exchange for a worse 22-year-old 4th liner because my team is rebuilding," or maybe "I'll trade you a slow 4th liner for a fast one because I really, really like speed," that sort of thing.

Then don’t take part. No one is forcing you to view, read, or post here.
It’s all for fun. Doesn’t always have to be serious.

Not sure if these guys qualify as 4th liners or 3rd liners, but what about...

To EDM: Lehkonnen

To MTL: Caggulia + 4th

They pretty much bring similar things to the table other than Caggulia is more physical, Lehkonnen has a better shot, but they play similar roles. Similar production, Lehkonen got more PP time, Caggulia has better supporting cast. Caggulia does cost more, hence the pick.

No chance Montreal would do that.

Not fourth line, but Perreault is on the table for any team that could use him. Winnipeg couldn't be any happier than with how our current fourth line is.

Perreault would be a good add-on for us to clear salary in a blockbuster deal, but we'll just pretend this is one-for-one.

Philadelphia:
Perreault

Winnipeg:
Weise

That would be a catastrophically bad trade for Winnipeg. Yes, Perreault may need to be jettisoned for cap space. But he is a legitimately useful player. The counting stats aren't amazing (yet still good) but he makes every line he's on better. He's a great glue guy you can throw anywhere. Dale Weise....is Dale Weise.

Yes, Lehk had a bad season last year, but there is no way he is a fourth liner. If we are allowed to go purely off stats though I guess we could move Froese + a 5th for Poolparty.

Honestly I think the Flames' 4th line will be one of the better ones in the league this season, as long as Lazar stays nicely seated in the press box.

I didn't specifically call Lehkonnen a 4th liner, I prefaced the whole proposal saying "Not sure if these guys qualify as 4th line or 3rd line guys." Both him and Caggulia played up and down the lineup last year. I think both are similar caliber, but Lehkonnen is cheaper with a bit more upside. I completely get why the Habs would prefer to keep him.

Your counter is ridiculous though. You don't see just a little difference between the two situations? Caggulia and Lehkonnen produced at similar levels; Pulju is only 20 with major upside vs the steaming pile of meh you suggested.
