Isles absolutely positively need home ice for first 2 rounds if they want to advance out of the east. For some reason they can’t play on the road. Gotta take at a minimum 2 of 3 vs WAS here.

Finish the season strong and win the division.

Face the Penguins in the first round and win the series 4-1

Face the Caps in the second round and win the series 4-2

Face the Hurricanes in the East finals and win 4-3

Face the Golden Knights in the Finals and win 4-2

Not having last change makes line matching harder, especially in the 2nd period when there is the long change. It makes things harder for defensively focused teams, which the Islanders certainly are. Doesn't necessarily mean a death sentence if we don't win home ice advantage, as we can still steal some road games and with our improved depth post deadline we are stronger top to bottom so line matching is less necessary. But I do agree our odds improve if we do have it.
