No way the defense has enough gas tonight. Rasmus played 36 minutes, Bogosian 29.

4-1 Montreal.

Harrington has it exactly right: http://buffalonews.com/2017/01/20/mike-harrington-soft-d-major-sabres-issue/

"The Sabres' top-six forward group is clearly close to being what it needs for a playoff run. But that's a sobering thought because the club makes you think of recent versions of teams in Colorado and Edmonton. Lots of talent up front and a porous back end.

"Don't have to tell you how long it's been for Edmonton to become relevant, until Connor McDavid stayed healthy this year -- and the Oilers traded former No. 1 overall Taylor Hall to New Jersey for shutdown D-man Adam Larsson. The Avalanche are a complete mess, with a young forward core that will need to be broken up."

Looking forward to Risto being barely able to move tonight. Don't really care how he plays in this one. I don't usually say this, but I'll give the player a free pass if he plays like **** tonight.

Buffalo is a lot closer to Edmonton's trajectory than Colorado's.

Edmonton maintained center depth and traded a winger for defense.

Colorado traded a center and heart-and-soul leader for prospects, and lost another center in free agency.

I've said this before: this season is Buffalo's version of Edmonton's 2015-2016. I expect GMTM to make the appropriate defensive adds this off-season.

Sabresbuzz want Des on a d-pairing with Franson if McCabe can't play.. Might as well just give Habs the win here.

All three projected LHD are out leaving just Falk. Fedun looked ok on the left side in spurts yesterday. If Guhle isn't the callup then the callup is going to be an RHD so Fedun will play the left side in all likelihood.

Bogo/Falk-Risto
Bogo/Falk-Franson
Fedun-Burg/Nelson

Both teams on a B2B, both teams on their 4th game in 6 nights, in Montreal on a Saturday...

It's either going to be a 2-1 penalty filled snoozefest, or a defense optional skate both ways.

I'll be taking in tonight's game with my two sons in person from the Centre Bell in Montreal. I've never seen the Sabre on the road and hope they put on a decent showing. Can't see how the D will have much left - especially Risto.

With Carey Price in goal it could be rough sledding. Hoping for a big night from Eichel and Reinhart.

Lehner steals a 2-0 win

Flashbacks of the old Biron/Noronen Goalie controversy begin to flash in everyone's heads.

Yeah, chances of a victory in this one are slim to none.

Just hope we can get some goals, cause we'll be letting in quite a few.
