Hexy's timelines didnt align:
G, Voracek, Simmonds, Cout, Ghost, Provy was the present and only 1 of those guys is having a season up to standard.

TK, Patrick, Hart,Lindblom, Sanheim are the future but just not good enough to make up for the lack of production from the top guys.

Which is basically what Fletcher wants. Think about it...this season and this roster is not on him. It's easier to sell then to buy at TDL, it's easier to sign Panarin, Karlsson or others when you have 30+ million in cap and it's also easier to draft in the top 3. I mean I feel the guy...this season is just not his.

At this time, he really have the easiest GM job of all 31 teams. No pressure, trade, draft, sign and restart. I really convince Voracek, Simmonds and maybe Ghost will be traded from now to draft. Weise, Macdonald, Neuvirth, Weal will 100% be gone.
