Boston is down dmen after already losing dmen in the summer. Down goalies. Not going to happen, but it’s not impossible. That said, I want them to lose out.

Well, any of our defensemen would look infinitely better in their system.
And their 4th string goalie is better than our starter right now... they actually have 4 NHL calibre goalies when everyone is healthy.

I don't see this happening

- BOS still has lots of games vs BUF (BUF have been less of a train wreck recently, but still not good)
- There's not many games left in the season, so PHI playing well in recent games might be too late - after the disaster March we had
- It's not just BOS; it's also about holding NYR behind us in the standings.

Edit: I hope I'm wrong, tho. Next draft seems really uncertain/gamble thus not sure if few draft picks higher or lower will be a big difference maker, to be honest.

Yea I don’t see it for real either and think it’s a no brainer to sell. Just that I would think the bruin fans don’t want to be buyers either given their situation.

Plus, this team rarely just dies. I wouldn’t be shocked if they win 10 in a row. I hope they do just die though haha

So Allison and Laczynski are playing? Smart move if so...ad some hungry young blood to help prevent a let down game.

Also...have they ever actually tried Prov-Myers pair? Seems worth a shot...this would be a good game to dit old man braun.

Allison and Laczynski have been promoted to Taxi Squad. At last check, neither is part of the 23-man roster. There are 22 active players on the 23-man roster. Thus, if both played today, there would have to be someone dropped from the active roster. If only one is promoted to the 23-man roster then nothing more than a paper move needs to be made (if everything else is in order).

So it would have to be Ghost then, right? Or maybe Farabee? Not sure who else is waiver exempt.

Ed Snider passed 5 years ago today.

Since the Flyers are playing Buffalo... reminds me of a quote from Terry Murray after he joined the Sabres just prior to Ed Snider's passing...

“He just wished me luck,” Murray, 65, said during a phone interview today. “He said, ‘We’ve been around each other for a long time.’ It was the same kind of conversation we had back in the 1970s. He was the same person, and had the same genuine caring for you as a Flyer and your family.”

I know people like the mystery box. But recent first rounders for the Flyers have included Patrick, Rubtsov, O'Brien, Morin, Frost; they are far from a sure thing, and Laughton (a former first rounder himself) is a known quantity as a solid middle-six player right now. I don't think they want to remove that from a roster that has already struggled this season.

Not to mention the implications with the draft being such a wildcard this season.

In a hypothetical...

Provided both play but I don't see them removing Ghost as a D-man today for two forwards. Yes, stranger things have occurred and this season especially. If Gustafsson or Myers returned today to replace Ghost, who would be Taxi'd, then there would be room on the 23-man roster for the two forwards to be recalled from Taxi Squad. Ghost wouldn't be among the scratches since he'd be on Taxi Squad. The max three scratched would be either Gustafsson or Myers plus the two forwards who could get scratched for the two call-ups.
