If ever there is a place in the NHL for smaller players it's in the 3 on 3. The more mobile the better. An NHL ice surface is very big when there are only 3 on 3. Guys like Chara have no business on the ice for such a scenario.

I see guys like Krug, Marchand, Pasta , Spooner , Belesky, coupled with guys who have defensive awareness like Bergy, Erikkson, Krejci and dare I say it, even Kelly on the 3rd 3 on 3 line .

Here size doesn't matter and the bigger players will likely become a liability. You want skaters, shifty players and speed.

The Bruins are not really equipped to defend in such a scenario so for them the only logical approach is to go more to the offence side of things where they are forcing the play. I would be surprised if we couldn't win more games than we did last year actually going for it. Lord knows the take it to shoot out strategy we used last year didn't work.
