Ummm, what?? First time hearing about this. Do you have a link? I went searching and only saw about a rumor involving Simmonds for Dougie Hamilton in 2018.

It was talked about Cats wanting one of Schenn/Simmer involved and flyers wanted to send them the other one if I recall correctly. Gotta think it was Schenn considering they shipped him out not too long after and Florida already had Barkov, Trocheck, corpse of Bolland and whoever is the big boy center they shipped out to Pens and is in desert now

Hmm, I would be a lot surprised if I was wrong on this.

But I really remember how there was an article with mentioning a offer from Florida and their 1st pick for Simmonds in 2014.

It's a ways back now, but as I remember it, it was an offer made by the Flyers that was refused. And the offer included their first and either Simmonds or Voracek, among other pieces. But I'm probably wrong, my mind is swiss cheese.

I don't know where the link is, and I don't know how strong of a rumor this is, but I remember hearing that Hextall tried to move up to draft Ekblad, but Florida needed the Flyers to include Wayne Simmonds and Hextall refused. I don't remember if it was reported by a beat or if it was conjecture in the forums,

It wasn't just conjecture in the forums. I was at the draft, and it was being talked about in the crowd, IIRC it was on the radio, there was serious smoke coming from that fire. Obviously it fell apart, but it was more than just speculation on the day.

I have basically stopped watching this team since the start of the year . And will probably not come back much until after the A hole coaching this team along with his pet dog Rocky are gone.

Is really disappointing not following a team you like cause of a couple pricks but on the other hand I have gone to and watched more Jets games this year . I think I am going to go to the Jets-Philly game in a couple weeks just so I can yell at Tort's . About 10 rows back of their bench should give me prime mocking distance .

Scratching Frost for a 7th D is some serious LOL stuff. It's one thing to operate as a coach where you make decisions without caring what the gallery thinks, but that only works where you're making defensible decisions.

The upside to this season is that if they win enough to squeak into the playoffs, a lot of young players are going to get experience. I won't mind that. The other upside if they don't win enough is that they have a better draft position. I won't mind that, either. I'd prefer they lose because the other team outplayed them, not because the coach stacked the lineup with replacement-level players and did stupid things like pick Foerster over Konecny in the SO. I have no doubt that if I walked into a casino with Torts, he'd head right for the roulette wheel.

It’s easy to get angry with Tortorella when he makes goofy decisions that ultimately cost the team a win. The bright side of going 11-7; benching Frost; selecting the wrong guys in a SO is that they lose. To a team that they need to see pass them in the standings no less.
This team will be in the top ten come draft day. The PO contenders are starting to gear up their games. The Flyers can’t do that. They’re playing the best that they can and are sliding anyway. There’s no way to “fix” this roster with a trade or two in order to turn it around.
