If the Florida panthers win tonight, which is certainly possible, then they are only 10 points behind with 2 in hand, if they win those 2 games then Its understandable for leaf fans to start worrying

I wouldn't worry. I'd rather the Leafs be the first wild card team and jump over to the Metro bracket, avoiding TB/BOS.

At which point would drop to a wildcard.

3 teams essentially have to win out and we have to lose out for us not to make it.

IIRC no 97 point team has ever missed the playoffs
