Is there anyone who is older than Gordie Howe in professional hockey history? I mean if you don't count the 15 seconds Gordie played a few years back with the Detroit Vipers of the IHL. Didn't Tretiak play into his 50s?

Tretyak (25.04.1952) retired after 1983-84 season.

Jacques Plante played until he was 44 in the NHL (72-73) then went to the WHA to play another season at 45! At 44, he was aquired by Boston halfway through the season and went 7-1 with a 2.00 gaa!
