This is *absolutely* the first step in that process, but I’m guessing the standard for termination is higher.

Blues fan popping in to second this being completely out of character for Berglund. Blues fans always loved to bitch about his contract, but nobody ever had a bad word to say about him as a team player. And he was often described as a glue kind of guy. I really hope he’s okay and there’s an explanation for it.

If it were health related, then why would a suspension be needed?

I would think that if it were something personal/mental health related, they would grant him a “leave of absence” rather than outright “suspending him for failure to report.”

Yet again, you hate to speculate but that kind of stuff doesn’t really require a logical explanation. Odd situation for sure, hope he’s alright.
