Can't see him beating out 2 of Werenski, Slavin, Q Hughes, L Hughes, Miller, Sanderson
I definitely can tbh. I wouldn't put money on it, but I can see a path for it.

-I like Miller, but I think Vlasic is probably the better player already. He had the better year in terms of everything but points.

-As well, there's a chance that Luke explodes next year and makes himself impossible to leave off, but if not, Guerin may be in favor of bringing another defensive specialist/PK'er.

Werenski and Luke are both negatively affected by the fact that the top two PP QB's are Quinn and Fox, and that's pretty much set in stone. To me, Quinn and Sanderson are probably the only two sure bets. Quinn is the best we have, and Sanderson is a very good, versatile, all situations defenseman. After that it gets murky and you start getting into questions about how you want to construct the roster.

Miller can be a physical beast defensively. Next 1.5 seasons will be interesting.
Always injuries also.

Watching Stars vs Avs and seeing Parise, Pavelski, Suter and Jack Johnson all on the ice together in overtime is amazing. Nothing but love for all those dudes and will never forget the 2010 Olympic team they all played so well in. Last time we might see all of them play this playoffs....
IIRC, it was Pavelski who knuckleballed the puck towards Luongo early in overtime. Luongo awkwardly made the save off his shoulder. Watching it, my stomach was in my throat - it was one of those shots that are insanely difficult to judge/control and I thought that was the end for Canada.

Whenever I see that highlight, even now, it makes my stomach sink.

I thought Lindgren declined? It would have been helpful to have him in place from the start. Anyway, it was unlikely we were going to get Swayman so this is a decent add. Lindgren had a good year and is capable at this level. I'm more concerned with the finishing ability.

The question is how far USA Hockey went to get him. He declined first and now the offseason training program suddenly is not that important after all:laugh::huh:. He's good at times, but very inconsistent. I don't see him as a better option than Nedeljkovic. Especially when he comes in the middle of the tournament. One game against Latvia maybe and then he should be ready for the quarterfinals. I just don't see it.

Yeah not sure, unless they promised him the net and they couldn't with Lyon here originally. But like you said I don't see how he can be the guy. He might get 1 game in and then elimination round time.. At that point might as well just stick with Ned who at least has been here all week long. Is Lindgren really a big upgrade over Ned?? Plus he hasn't played hockey in weeks...

Happy he is showing up though, we needed someone and he answered. Swayman probably too emotional to come after that tough loss..

I would have liked to see somebody like Cassidy considering USA Hockey usually want to have a coach who has a citizenship. Cooper may be with Canada. I don't hate Sullivan decision but it is hard to read his recent work because Pens core is getting older.

As long as it isn't Torts or Quinn I am fine with it lol...

Laviolette I am sure will be there in some capacity as well as an assistant. No problem with Lavs...

Depending what this US team does next week, I imagine Lalonde and Hynes involved as well...if this team medals..

Love to see Carle there too as an assistant but doubt that will happen.

Start feeding Zegras. Double shift him. I don't give a shit. We need this kid to start feeling it out there. Today and Tuesday last days left to get these other guys going.

Pinto is flying out there by the way. His speed is noticeable so far...
