Super surprising to me that Cooley hasn’t gone pro after his season. Would be massive to return him to this team. Real possibility the entire forward group is made up of first rounders.
Arizona only played 2 games by the time Cooley was done, one of which was 2 days after his last game for the Gohpers.

Wasn't really time/a need to rush him across the country for one game.

Cooley, Gauthier, McGroartey, Nazar, Snuggerud, Brindley, Stramel, Howard
Smith, Perrault, Leonard, Moore, Whitelaw
Eiserman, Hagens

This could be one of our most loaded teams ever, even better than the 97 and 01 led teams. Forward spots are going to be ridiculously competitive, just hope we dont sell ourselves short by bringing certain "bottom 6 role-players" type. Let's load up and go all out. Cooley still being in play is exciting, maybe he's waiting on arena news or lottery news.

Cooley is back thanks to Arizona's turmoil. What a gift.

If this team doesn't win gold it would probably be the biggest USAH failure in their WJC history? They return a ton of players. They could have lost top tier guys a la Cooley but didn't whereas Canada will.

Should be a hell of a team. Lots of pressure to perform.

The offense will be unbelievably good.

The potential is there for the team to be one of the best teams ever of any nationality.

Musty-Cooley-Snuggerud --> Scoring line 1. Cooley-Snuggerud connection.
Perreault-Smith-Leonard --> Scoring line 2. Undeniable chemistry.
Howard-Gauthier-Brindley --> Gauthier can carry 2 support players.
McGroarty-Moore-Stramel --> Match up line.

Nazar/Kaplan/Whitelaw/Lund in the mix as extras and Eiserman looming as a possible x factor.

The offence looks even better when you consider that one of Hutson or Casey will be on the ice with these forwards for 3/4 of the game

That is setting the bar a little high I would say. Definitely going to go into the tournament as the favourite though.

Eiserman and Hagens there as underagers.

On first glance the biggest snubs for me are on defense: Andrew Strathmann and Ryan Healey. They should both absolutely be there.

Cooley won't be at camp. Likely a mutual decision to get a better look at other guys and let him train for the season.

Terrific team. Well rounded - especially up front where you have a healthy mix of 18 and 19. Should be favourites for Gold.

**

Although things turned out poorly, nice to see 2 countries working together to find the lost sub. The U.S. is a wonderful neighbour.

Would've liked to see Gavin McCarthy too.

Yeah, he would have been a worthy invite too, but it was tough sledding for RHD. 50% (8) of the defensemen invited are RHD, 2 of them (Chesley, Casey) are already locks, and all the RHD are '04s. I would have taken Healey before McCarthy but both would fit in here. Brown is the guy that's a bit of an off-the-wall selection. Not that it's unexpected that he would have been considered but he's pretty raw and more of a project at this point. I doubt he gets an invite if he wasn't headed to Denver to play for Carle.
