I am the ''let your QB's sit for 2 or 3 years like the Packers'' guy but even I have a hard time wrapping my mind around using the 8th pick on such a QB.

Penix is going to be 24 when the season starts, he doesn't need to sit. In fact, he needs to play more because timing and precision are his best assets. You don't want him to lose the clock in his head. You're going to waste his best athletic years as well, and you're looking at 26 or 27 when he begins to start? It's very Atlanta Falcons, they are stupid. And that makes me happy.

I don't understand why you'd trade up 1 spot? Why would a team let a team jump them if they really wanted the guy?
