I’ll go Boston College even though the most talented teams don’t necessarily always win these things. But this is one of the more talented college teams in recent history. Probably comparable with some of those Michigan teams.
Voted BC for the same reason.

My hope is that Denver is eliminated quickly, and the Flyers sign Rizzo to an ATO.

Just because its a very Flyers thing to happen, BC will win, Gauthier will be the MVP and will get the Hobey Baker.

This isn’t sour grapes on my end because I was always skeptical of Gauthier’s ceiling even before everything ended up going down. I’m also pretty damn skeptical of Drysdale’s ceiling at this point as well for full disclosure.

But I’m not sure even sure if Gauthier’s a better prospect than Ryan Leonard. Will Smith & Gabe Perreault are easily better prospects than him imo.

My guess is it'll take an ELC this year to get him to sign or else he's better waiting until August to see if he can find a better landing spot.
I agree it’ll probably take an ELC, but where is a better landing spot than here? We are desperate for talented centers and our powerplay sucks so bad we’d probably give him time on pp2 from day one. Where else is he going to be afforded that type of opportunity?

Plenty of places? The Flyers don’t have the top end talent, but have plenty of depth that he’d be competing with and few openings next year as it currently stands. He could just as easily fade into the background amongst those players. And whether you agree or not, the organization’s reputation isn’t the greatest at the moment so there’s that to consider also.

As for the second point, he’s the same age as Bobby Brink. Played with Bobby Brink. Probably knows Bobby Brink is a better player than him and could see how he has been jerked around. If he’s being honest with himself, he’d probably realize things won’t be as seamless as you are suggesting. And the NHL’s bar for sub 6 foot centers is extremely high so decent chance he doesn’t get a shot at center.

I'm taking a shot with Cornell

Very structured, play great D and have ECAC Goalie of the year

Plus already beat BU earlier in the season

Gophers take the lead 3-2 with 4 minutes left in the 3rd after trailing 2-1 earlier in the 3rd

Cutter Gauthier's potential second goal was reversed due to a deflection off the ref's body. BC comes right back and makes it 4-1. Big discrepancy in talent between the squads but Michigan Tech had the golden chance with a 5- minute PP that failed.
