I guess your prayers have been heardIf I am not mistaken, each year, once WHC started, HFBoards renamed this section to "World Hockey Championships" and moved it up next to "Stanley Cup Playoffs". Why not this year? It's still named "International tournaments".
Didn't know where to post this question so I used this thread.
The attendance in Riga is pretty much the same as back in 2006, which is indicative of the size of the market for hockey in Latvia. It hasn't changed much.Attendance summary after 20 games.
Riga Arena with capacity of 10 300 seats, average attendance 5482 fans, five games with attendance under 4000 fans. Norway vs Kazakhstan with lowest attendance (2870).
Nokia Arena with capacity of 13 300 seats, average attendance 8400 fans,
In Finland there have always been fairly many corporate seats with shit atmosphere.Yet they say that the atmosphere in Riga has been much better than in Tampere.
That's a matter of opinion though. Not measurable.
Excuse. Everything written in your post could be done in 2023 as well.In 2006, they also gave up hundreds of unsold tickets to local pupils for free, so that helped the average.
+ Having Group C in Arena Riga with Russia and Belarus, who have quite large local communities.
Is that good? - sincere question. All games planned at Arena Riga are over, average attendance is 5 555 fans per game.
It is bad. This year was 11 games at Arena Riga with attandance below 4000, plus other games in range 4000-5000.Is that good? - sincere question.
Why? The attendance has been significantly better in Tampere than in Riga.Finland shouldn't host this tournament anytime soon. Latvia could host alone soon.
Less than half of the average attendance than at the last tournament held in the Czech Republic, which makes me look forward to next year in Prague and Ostrava. From Uncle Wikipedia:All games planned at Arena Riga are over, average attendance is 5 555 fans per game.
Hard to see how is this true. Tampere had Sweden and Hungary while Riga had Czechia, Switzerland and Slovakia.Tampere also got the better selection of teams when it comes to traveling fans, swap the teams minus the hosts and the difference would be smaller.
In Riga there was Kazakhstan with as good as no traveling fans at all and Norway as well as Slovenia with very few individuals. Basically they had the Latvians and the Czechs carrying the whole thing.Hard to see how is this true. Tampere had Sweden and Hungary while Riga had Czechia, Switzerland and Slovakia.
And you truly think that the traveling fans of US, France, Austria, Germany and Denmark made the difference? In Riga there was Kazakhstan with as good as no traveling fans at all and Norway as well as Slovenia with very few individuals. For example German fans there have always been well above average and Hungary is a good addition in that sense. And you truly think that the traveling fans of US, France, Austria, Germany and Denmark made the difference?
