This is usually a three-week commitment that requires you to check the thread almost daily. Do not sign up if you cannot commit to this. Two auto's and you will be relieved of your duties as GM.

We will use the authentic draft order based on points percentage as of March 30, 2023.

PHASE ONE: 2023 NHL ENTRY DRAFT
We will have a 7-round 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

Picks: The draft clock will run from 8 a.m. to Midnight ET. Each pick will be 4-hours long. Once time is up on a pick, anyone can auto the pick. We auto 3 North Americans, then 1 European, from NHL Central Scouting's Final Rankings list. Goaltenders are NOT auto'd. Before any more picks are made, the GM can change the auto pick and not be charged with an auto. However, all auto picks are final once the next pick is made. No exceptions.

NOTE: All teams must have a minimum of FOUR and a maximum of TWELVE picks in any draft. The ONLY exception to this rule is if a real-life team currently holds fewer than four or more than twelve.

PHASE TWO: FREE AGENT FRENZY
You may NOT sign any pending UFA's (this includes Group 6 UFA's). Following the draft, there will be a UFA signing period. All UFA's are assumed to want to test free agency (this does not mean they won't re-sign with their old team). I will act as Universal Player Agent and weigh the role and salary offered from each team.

The Salary Cap will have a max of $83.5M and a floor of $62.2M.

NOTE: No trade can involve more than FIVE pieces on a side, or EIGHT pieces total. Also, if any player gets traded who absolutely wouldn't be (i.e. McDavid), the deal also gets vetoed automatically. Either GM can post the trade on the thread, but I need the other to confirm it. If the trade is borderline veto-worthy, PLEASE seek my approval first.

Traded picks are limited to 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Rosters: Please post your initial roster, and post an updated version when a trade is made. Always include Cap status. Rosters listed without scratches (since that would never happen) are not allowed.

After you pick, please PM the next GM to notify them! And POST THIS WITH YOUR PICK!!! If you cannot PM for whatever reason (i.e. on a phone), ASK SOMEONE TO PM in your post.

Please, do not announce trades until all teams have a GM.

SABRES ACQUIRE CROUSE, VEJMELKA FROM COYOTES
June 27, 2023

BUFFALO, NY - The Buffalo Sabres announced today that the team has acquired forward Lawson Crouse and goaltender Karel Vejmelka from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for forward Viktor Neuchev, goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, and a first round pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft (13th overall).

Crouse (6' 4", 215 lbs, 06.23.1997) comes to Buffalo following seven seasons with the Coyotes, where he appeared in 423 games and tallied 156 points and 286 penalty minutes. Prior to turning pro, he spent three seasons with the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League. The Mount Brydges, Ontario native was drafted in the first round, 11th overall by the Florida Panthers in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

Vejmelka (6' 4", 224 lbs, 05.25.1996) joins the Sabres following two seasons in Arizona, where he appeared in 103 games. He previously appeared in 163 games in the Czech Extraliga, posting a 2.56 Goals Against Average and a .913 Save Percentage. The Trebic, Czechia native was drafted in the fifth round, 145th overall by the Nashville Predators in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

"We are thrilled to add two solid pieces to our group," said the Sabres GM. "We feel comfortable with the skill level in our room but wanted to add some size and grit, which Lawson will provide. Karel is going to provide stability and be a great veteran presence in net for us. We wish UPL and Viktor the best of luck in the future."

The 2023 NHL Entry Draft begins Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. The Sabres first pick is 39th overall, in the second round.

Working on a full Ducks update (apologies for being slow out of the gates this time around). Would like to do a change of scenery trade for RFA Max Comtois, preferably to get a young RW in a similar situation.

Other than that, I'm most likely going to look to free agency to plug holes, but I may explore deals where the other team needs to dump salary in the form of a solid player who could help my young roster. Biggest needs are a couple of veteran dman who can provide defensive help, and some big body presence forwards who can play alongside the kids.
