The Nashville Predators and Regions Bank are teaming up for the NHL franchise's first jersey patch sponsorship. And the reason makes total sense.

NHL's updated theme night guidance for teams includes Pride Tape ban

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said in June players would not be allowed to wear specialty jerseys during warmups because it has "become a distraction."

I heard that the league is selling promotional mentions in the little motivational and funny quips that the referees have been saying before face-offs.

And they won’t stop at game-opening face offs. Every face off through every game will be the refs moving their lips, and regional broadcasters will over-dub market-targeted slogans.
