I’m kinda torn on this one, two schools of thought:

1. Is there a cheap backup out there at half the price this summer, that possibly could be just as good? Maybe.

And if there is - I would rather them use that 1.75M or whatever you would save by not signing Fedotov to be a 3rd party broker in a trade

2. Goalie tandem is under $5M combined next year and thats good for me

I’d probably rather them not spend 3M+ on him, but I don’t think it’s too bad

Looking at who's going to be available this summer? No, the goalie market is butts this year. Samsonov, Stolarz, Brossoit, Talbot, Driedger, Nedeljkovic, and Martin Jones are probably the top names, and I'm not sure I'm willing to try and beat other goalie-needy teams to any of them. Honestly, if we're to free up cap to serve as a broker, we'd be better served trying to move a bigger name, get some cheap assets in return, and then use the cap space thereafter.

That’s fair

Well you can’t fill your top6 with “modern progressive skill 5’10/165 no-dinosaurs” and get through THIS, just for example

then you will whine about anther ex flyers taking over. they need a complete engine flush. clean slate all around. let them all go build your management team from the ground up.
Kimmo if given the reins with no meddling from the ancestors would be a breath of fresh air. His views always seem to be what this team should do but doesn't

Start Kimmo off as PP coach. Get Tortorella's useless pet the hell out of the organization.
Kimmo is enjoying retirement too much and I don't blame him. Maybe he'd like a front office role but I don't see him as the coaching type. Assistant GM? If he feels like traveling and looking at prospects. He's probably looking at Briere and saying, hey I can just step right into being a GM with little to no experience... and I guess he'd have a point there.

With Atkinson bought out they could get just under the cap with this 22 man roster without having to put the two broken Ryans on LTIR right away.

I've been banging this drum for years, but I think Comcast is too cowardly to do this. I think the best we can get is a purge of the current set (I am sure Hanrahan will somehow survive) aside from Clarke, and Timonen being brought in. Timonen, per what he says (whatever it's worth), is wildly different in approach to what is there. Bringing in a wildly different Flyer is probably the best we can hope for, unfortunately.

Eh, being real, they'll never get rid of any of them. Maybe they hire Timonen as a mandate from on high, and then he's undermined completely and run out of town. Flyers Hockey!

I am not sure they are cowards I think imo it is they really do not care as long as not losing money or a lot of it as this just a toy and way down on important things under the Comcast umbrella.
