I don't think Makar ever left. He just didn't care about the regular season, which is why he rightfully won't win this award.

they are the same type of defenseman. One had a great year, one had a down year. Makar's down year is still arguable for norris nomination, but he won't win it. Avs offense is driven by Mack, Canuck's is driven by Hughes.
