NFL game delayed a day (to Monday afternoon) due to weather.

Sharks @ Buffalo game moved up an hour

Sharks are in Ottawa today. Buffalo airport closed. So they'll have to stay over in Ottawa.

Hopefully they'll be able to fly in Sunday (evening?).

Canucks' plane out of Buffalo cancelled due to snowstorm

The Canucks will have to stay at least one extra night in Buffalo.

Canucks unable to get out of Buffalo before airport shut down Saturday. They have Monday morning (PT) game similar to Sharks.

My guess is that NHL told the officiating zebras to stay put for Monday game in Buffalo.

VAN has to fly out of Buffalo as that's where their charter plane is (unless they can get another plane?).

Niagra Falls probably being impacted by lake effect storms as well.

If the roads/freeways/highways aren't plowed can't get there to/from Rochester.

(Odd ball thought.. Canucks fly out on Sharks charter.)

Looking at radar, downtown Buffalo clear, but nasty line of lake effect snow south of that.

Got to Buffalo at 930pm et. Had to take "back roads" to arena.

Probably why they have to bus into Toronto to get another chartered plane. Just the reality of the weather. Lucky to get the games in between these West and East conf teams. Really hard to make up a game later. Canucks for example, have just 1 more EST road trip after the ASG to Car, Bos, Det, then Was with the last 3 in 4 days. Would be difficult to find a common date for both teams to make up. That's a good 4 hour plus flight to get from Van to CBS for just 1 game if they had to redo the game after the season. Doubt they would have made up for it having the 2 clubs play a day earlier coming off the ASG break.

But, the Canucks did manage to get into Columbus on Sunday.

FYI

this was lake effect drive snow.

most of snow was south suburbs. In this path rochester airport is in line with long running snow bands

Niagara Falls usually gets the least snow. 3 inches+ wind.

Niagara Falls is not much of a commercial airport. It’s mainly a military base with long runways. It’s capable of handling big body aircraft landing. It took some international flights during duting Toronto airport closure.

i just looked to see what might had been out there.

i think they had an opportunity to do Friday Feb 23

21st colorado finished up So Cal. 23 at Buffalo Vancouver was to play at Seattle on 22 and Sat home. they could have moved the CBS-Buffa and van0sea games then done van-cbs from west coast area then the other games could be rescheduled at another time.

They got the game in. But, honestly, the NHL & PA, rather the add games at the end of the season, should probably moving forward budget a day after the ASG in Feb as the day for make up games. Hopefully, by then, most of the major snow storms will have passed.

Always difficult to have east/west make up games given the distance to travel between the 2 cities. Basically needing a day off after the game to return home.
