I've never seen anything like this series. Not outside of international play, anyway. These were the 2 best teams in the OHL and it wasn't even close. London outscored them 31-9 in 4 games. Oshawa had a slim hope in game 3 when they were up 6-2 after 2 periods, but London tied it in the 3rd and won it in OT.

I can't see any team beating them in the Memorial Cup.

Roobroeck finished with 26 points in 21 games.

Hartford plays tonight and Saturday. Even if Roobroeck signs today, I can't imagine him playing prior to game 3 on Wednesday. Smith will want to see him in practice first.

I wouldn't be too sure. They inserted Barker for games 3 and 4 of the Providence series. He was assigned to Hartford on April 29th and played his first game on May 8th.

If they think Roobroeck is ready and can help, I see no reason why they wouldn't play him at some point.

Even if Roobroceck doesn't get into games, it probably isn't a bad idea to have him down there skating with the guys and getting acclimated with where he's most likely going to be playing next year.

I would think so. I can't see him going back for an overage year, but even if he does, they will likely sign him, bring him to camp, then send him to Hartford's camp before they make that decision.

when team returns to Hartford after game 2
may not play, if series ends quick,
but not much different than BMB, Vaisanen, or McCarthy(RHD on AHL ATO) joining once available

It's not official confirmation, but if he was anticipating an ELC being offered he wouldn't sign that deal. So, come June 1, he's gone.

Oliver Tarnstrom signed a two-year contract with AIK in Sweden. That's where his dad played before and after his NHL stint.

It's not official confirmation, but if he was anticipating an ELC being offered he wouldn't sign that deal. So, come June 1, he's gone.

The expectation has been that he won't get an ELC for quite some time, but him signing with AIK isn't really an indicator, to be honest.

This happens from time to time with players in Europe and with the transfer agreement being amended recently, he wouldn't be AHL eligible for the first ELC year anyway if he signed, and then go back to AIK, the same thing we saw with Sýkora, Henriksson and Edström in recent years.

If he signed the (hypothetical) ELC and didn't make the NHL club, who would the Rangers offer him to return to if he wasn't under contract in Sweden? Right, and that's what I'm saying. If the Rangers had signaled that an ELC was incoming (they only have a couple more weeks) he could have waited knowing that an AHL assignment was in his future given that he's presumably not currently encumbered by any NHL-SHA agreement. Now, the Rangers don't normally take it down to the wire with ELCs so it's highly likely that one wasn't coming anyway, for obvious reasons, but electing to sign in Sweden with the hometown club right before the ELC deadline just looks to me like the final nail in the coffin. He's "going home" as AIK put it.

Anyway, whether the AIK move "means" anything or not, I think it's pretty clear Tarnstrom is about done in this organization.

i had mild hopes they might swap his rights for those of another org's "unlikely to sign", such as Sabres' Mats Lindgren, NYR have more need at D than up front ...

Roobroeck is a bigger Cuylle in my opinion. Edstrom hopefully 4th liner with speed and PK ability. More skill offensively maybe 10 -15 goals upside 4th line.
