This is glorious. First concern was Toronto being knocked out and it happened right away. Then after it was the Bruins/Canes being equally awful in my mind.

Canes could have done damage with the cap space they wasted on KK to "boom" us. Instead their season is over and they're set to lose considerable depth and cap flexibility.

... and the first round pick, they could have gotten a pretty good player (maybe Giroux with a +) at the trade deadline. I love thinking that is the difference between Carolina moving on to the third round and being eliminated tonight. Dundon is such an idiot.

Yup, picked up from Boston in Rick Nash trade. He's been pretty good in getting decent prospects in these trades, so I have good hope for Heineman and Barron.

So all season Carolina was justifying the 6.1 M contract given to KK by saying they didn't need him during the regular season.
Well, he scored 0 goals and 2 assists in 14 playoff games.

That 1st round pick and 6.1 M cap space could've easily been used on something much beter.
