The funniest, is that it’s the same PP coach
It shows how quality of personnel impacts the success of a powerplay (compared to strategy alone). Yet, you can have shooting threats but bad strategy like the Leafs against Bolts . It seems they were moving the puck a lot around the O-zone but not attempting shots at a high enough rate. You got Tavares, Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Rielly on the man-advantage. Stop moving the puck so much and trust these uber-talented guys to land shots that can destabilize a goalie. Hockey is a game of error and a barrage of strong shots and their rebounds will create more instability in an opponents strategic structure. You can have a disciplined, defensively-conscious group, but when shots from elite forwards are raining on you, panic can escalate and that's when you can exploit your opponent's loss of focus.
