Thought would be interesting to see people's first 16 pick mocks now that the order is sorted. Think the top 5 picks are pretty straight forward and almost a certainty in some order 3-5, with the top 2 pretty guaranteed. Only difference might be the order in which Jiricek, Nemec and Cooley go in . I'm actually pretty shocked that some "Pro Mocks" I've read have Cooley going to the Devils at 2. The one team that absolutely does not need another young center. Anyway, here's what I'm thinking at least.

1. Montreal Canadiens - Shane Wright C
2. New Jersey Devils - Juraj Slafkovsky LW
3. Arizona Coyotes - Logan Cooley C
4. Seattle Kraken - David Jiricek D
5. Philadelphia Flyers - Simon Nemec D
6. Columbus Blue Jackets (via CHI) - Joakim Kemell W
7. Ottawa Senators - Matthew Savoie C/W
8. Detroit Red Wings - Frank Nazar C
9. Buffalo Sabres - Jonathan Lekkerimaki W
10. Anaheim Ducks - Cutter Gauthier W
11. San Jose Sharks - Conor Geekie C
12. Columbus Blue Jackets - Denton Mateychuk D
13. New York Islanders - Danila Yurov W
14. Winnipeg Jets - Pavel Mintyukov D
15. Vancouver Canucks - Kevin Korchinski D
16. Buffalo Sabres (via VGK) - Marco Kasper C

I was actually struggling with those 2 Buffalo picks. The first, exactly between Geekie and Lekker. And then the Buffalo 16 pick also between McGroarty and Kasper and Lambert. And then I had whichever of Geekie or Lekker Sabres don't take going to Sharks. Exactly as you have those 3 picks lol. So definitely thinking along the same lines as you. Feel like SJ really needs another Center prospect. But they need a lot of things lol, so BPA for them prob the best bet.

Lambert is a tough one. I'm a bit skeptical after this past season. It was his second year in Liiga and didn't seem to show much progress. But a lot of folks are still high on him. Could definitely see him going in that 10-15 range. Having a tough time deciding really between he, Kasper and McGroarty.

It has me upset as a Jackets fan. He's 6th on Bob's list but the chances of him actually being available at #6 is slim.
Kraken fans seem convinced that Francis wants to grab a forward. Assuming Wright, Slaf and Cooley are off the board and Seattle takes another forward, Nemec and Jiricek would be available at 5-6. In that scenario, Seattle might be open to trading down too.

Both top two centers and top two d's are annoyingly gone at this pick. Still plenty of good guys to choose from though(Savoie, Nazar, Lekkerinmäki, Kemell etc...).

Imagine the havoc that Johnson - Savoie pairing could do in NHL. Just give them good sniper on another wing. (Laine, wink wink?). Something like Johnson - Savoie - Laine could be interesting to watch.

Honestly, I've been thinking that Jarmo might even consider reaching for Noah Östlund with his second first round pick given his position.

That would suck very badly as a Devils fan to have to face Slafkovsky with Philly after we (wrongfully) pass on him.

I have Ostlund in my top ten so I certainly won't complain about that pick at #12, but I don't know if you can take him after taking Savoie or Kemell/Lek/Nazar. The Jackets are already loaded with soft forwards.

I'd prefer to get someone with a different size/position combination at #6 and then there is a good chance that the BPA at #12 is going to be one of Ostlund/Savoie/Kemell/Lek/Nazar. 1 or 2 of them should be there, probably more actually. That small forward like Rossi/Perfetti is usually the type to slip.

That's a great outcome. Get the better player and the passenger winger doesn't have the bus driver to help him in Philly as is.

I'll feel bad for the Devils play-by-play guy once these 5 players are on the ice at the same time.

Juraj Slafkovsky - Janne Kuokkanen - Yegor Sharangovich
Shakir Mukhamadullin - Nikita Okhotiuk
As a rival fan, Devils have a good play by play guy. Cangialosi will have no trouble.

I couldn’t imagine Sam Rosen trying that. He struggles every game with basic stuff.
